ECCA October Update from Jill Flamm

John Pederson – Cobb County Zoning Division Manager to speak at the October ECCA General Membership Meeting Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the East Cobb Library 4880 Lower Roswell Road. Speaking on the County's zoning process and how groups like ECCA can help facilitate that process. (Mr. Pederson will not comment on specific zoning cases.)

Quarterly Adopt-a-mile clean-up
The quarterly Adopt-A-Mile cleanup along Johnson Ferry Road is now scheduled for Saturday, October 16th. We'll meet in the Publix parking lot at Woodlawn and Johnson Ferry at 9:00 am.

Wear comfortable clothing & shoes. Bring a pair of gloves; everything else will be provided. Should take about an hour. Any High School students who would like to attend, community service hours will be awarded. If inclement weather, call Jill Flamm 678/524-4255 to see if the event is rescheduled.

Third Johnson Ferry Urban Design Meeting
Monday, October 25, 2010, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the East Cobb Library
In February of 2010, the Board of Commissioner authorized the Community Development Agency to develop the Johnson Ferry Urban Design Plan as a result of growing concerns for this major commercial and residential corridor. .

The plan that will address land use, transportation and will provide a framework for improving both visual aesthetics and functionality of public spaces. For additional information go to http://comdev.cobbcountyga.gov/johnson-ferry/. Now is the time to speak up.

Effective October 17th, all library hours will be reduced and fees increased.
