Pens Bulletin Updates
From Cobb Police PENS: June 8th, 2011
In the last three weeks we have had numerous Entering Autos (stealing items from cars). Most of these incidents occurred late at night or in the early morning hours within neighborhoods. In the vast majority of these cases, the doors were left unlocked.
In the remaining cases where the vehicles were locked, items of value or items that appeared to contain valuables such as duffle bags and briefcases were left in plain site. This resulted with a broken window and the item taken.
Please remember to remove all valuables or anything that appears to contain valuables and lock your car doors!
If you have a garage, park your vehicle in the garage, remove the valuables and lock the garage doors.
If you plan to visit a park or other outdoor venue, lock your valuables in the trunk of your vehicle before you get there.
Do not place your purse under the seat, in the back floorboard, or under another item. The thieves are on to all of these tricks.
Help keep your neighborhood safe by deterring crime and always call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
Keep track of PENS Bulletins in our precinct through their website
Certain crime and incident reports are now available online through a system called Police to Citizen (P2C) which links the public to the database.
