Suspicious Black Car

On Saturday it was reported on Nextdoor.com that a black car was on Broxbourne around 4:30pm.   According to the child it was a black, four door sedan.   A man described by the child as "mid to late fifties with a birthmark type scar on his left cheek and darkish skin" tried to lure her to the car. She ran home and is safe.    This was reported to the police.

We would like to remind everyone of a few things:

1.   Call the police right away if you have concerns or feel threatened.  770-499-4184 or 770-499-3911 or just 911.   Cobb County Police have been very responsive and supportive.   Call the police first then post or call neighbors.   The first question we will ask you is if you have contacted police already.

2.  Sign up for the PENS bulletins from the police department  https://cobbcounty.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1716&Itemid=922   These bulletins will keep you up to date and anyone can sign up.

3.  Keep alert of your surroundings.   We all have had vehicles parked on our streets, some are people writing estimates, using their phones or up to no good.  It is important to be alert.  If you feel uncomfortable or children are approached, call police right away.

4.   Remind your children about strangers and what to do.

5.  Keep your car doors locked in your driveways and do not store valuables/weapons in your vehicles.   There have been a number of car break ins throughout East Cobb (including Camden Place).   Arrests have been made recently.

6.  Keep garage doors closed and doors locked.

Thank you for keeping Camden Place safe.
