Coyote Information

The following letter is from a group of concerned Camden Place families and it is being posted to assist them in distributing their information.

Dear Camden Place Families,

As most of you know, we have had numerous Coyote sightings on both sides of Camden Place. A pet dog was attacked and able to escape with the help of their owner back in January. Some of the Coyotes are not fearful and do not run when a human approaches. Twenty-four families contributed to hire a trapper, Chip Elliott, who was able to trap 3 Coyotes in our subdivision recently. Chip, as we had mentioned before, has been hired by Cobb County, the City of Roswell and many subdivisions to trap. Unfortunately, there have been sightings of more Coyotes in our subdivision over the past week. Chip will most likely have to expand his area to be able to get a better picture of where they are spotted and where they hunt.

We are sensitive to the issue of harming animals. However, the Coyotes are a threat to our pets and possibly to humans as well. A Roswell man was bitten by a rabid Coyote on February 27 while jogging. The traps that Chip sets just keep the animals in one spot and does not harm them. Unfortunately, by law they are not allowed to be relocated.

We are asking you to please consider joining the 24 families that have hired Chip Elliot and contribute toward the ongoing capture of this threat.

We feel that we should not live in fear and ask for your help to support the removal of these animals. Please consider joining us by contributing $100 to this Coyote removal initiative. You may do so by dropping a check in any of our mailboxes.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Kim Hughes (1330 Garrick Way, email- (kim@thzlaw.com), Andy Zalkin (1331 Garrick Way), email- (azups@att.net) , or Ellen Cherof (1335 Garrick Way), email- (cherofe@gmail.com).

Please make the check payable to Kim Hughes.

We do send periodic email updates about the Coyote sightings and how our trapper is doing. Feedback from our community about Coyote sightings is vital to remove the Coyotes.
