Cobb EMC Meeting

Dear Cobb EMC member,
Save the date! September 17!
Over the years, Cobb EMC has placed great value on the relationships we have formed with
the homeowners’ associations in our service area. We appreciate the dialogue and opportunity
we have to hear from you and your organization ways that we might serve you better. We hope
that this has also been beneficial to you and look forward to continuing to work together with
you. On September 17 you will have an opportunity to help shape Cobb EMC’s future. A
Special Meeting of the Members will be held and we hope you will attend to support your
cooperative and vote “yes” for the convenience of mail-in balloting.
As a Cobb EMC member, you may have already received an official notice of this very
important Cobb EMC membership meeting to be held on September 17, 2011, at Piedmont
Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA. At the Special Meeting of the Members,
Cobb EMC members will determine whether or not future Cobb EMC board elections may be
voted upon by mail or in-person votes, as opposed to being required to attend a meeting in
person to cast a vote. This decision will affect board elections at all future board election
meetings and annual meetings.
If you vote “yes” on the issue of mail-in balloting, you are voting for the convenience of
voting from your home in future elections. We think there may be times when it is simply
more convenient for you to vote by mail and we would like for you to have that option. A
“yes” vote and the passing of this issue will insure that you will.
Members will also vote on future board member compensation. No other issues will be
discussed or voted on.
We hope you can arrange your Saturday, September 17 schedule to attend and also
bring your family and friends who are Cobb EMC members to vote “yes” for mail-in
balloting. A program for the purpose of discussing the issues up for a vote at this meeting will
begin at 10:15 and last approximately two and a half hours. Voting hours, however, will be
from 12:30 pm until 5 pm.
Attendance at the 10:15 meeting is not necessary to vote, however, voting on September
17 must be in person. Come anytime between 12:30 pm and 5 pm, at your convenience, to
vote on the two items that will be on the ballot.
Meeting information will be posted at www.cobbemc.com. I hope to see you on September 17.
The future of Cobb EMC depends on you.
Sincerely,
W.T. (Chip) Nelson III
